Hmmm...well, ummm...today was exciting (a HUGE understatement)! My oldest son, Kyle (13 years old), was hit by a truck early this evening! He was taken by helicopter to a Houston hospital. Amazingly, he had no broken bones and no internal injuries! He is bruised up and has what they call "road rash" on his stomach and arms. But nothing that a few days of rest and taking it easy won't cure. Of course, we will be following up with his doctor in a few days. We are more than blessed...God and his angels were watching over Kyle and our family tonight!

Kyle is such a good kid. While he was laying in the road being attended to by the EMTs, he was trying to comfort the elderly woman that hit him. She was crying and quite upset and he felt bad for her. And when I got there, his first words to me were, "I'm sorry, Mom." What the heck can you say to that?
Once again, our friends Chester and Becca came to our aide! They jumped right in and picked up our other 3 children. They kept them at their house where they fed them and entertained them all night. That was such a relief not to have to worry about them and it allowed our families the freedom to come to the hospital if they chose to. Thank you so much Chester and Becca! We are truly blessed to call you our friends!
Needless to say, I didn't make it to the gym tonight to do weights. We weren't able to leave the hospital until 12am. But some things are just more important...and the gym can wait a day.

Last night at my in-law's, my husband came across a sword of his brother's. He thought it was so cool and borrowed it to use in an upcoming photo shoot. He is actually looking at a few other swords as well. I've asked one of my sisters to make me some costumes to wear in those shoots....there will be several. That should be a lot of fun.
